The Government of India had entrusted to the Authority the development, maintenance and management of National Highway No. 08 including the section from km 87.700 (Design Chainage) to km 106.500 (Design Chainage) (approx. 18.85 km).The Authority had resolved to augment existing road from km 87.700 (Design Chainage) near Chandkhira Village to km 106.500 (Design Chainage) near Churaibari Village (approximately 18.85 km) (Assam/Tripura Border) on Silchar-Churaibari Pkg-6 in the State of Assam by Four-Laning thereof(the “Project”) on design, build, operate and transfer (the “DBOT Annuity” or “Hybrid Annuity”) in the state of Assam.

This ambitious project aims to build and upgrade National Highways and Expressways across India. In Assam, the Bharatmala Project focuses on improving connectivity to the Northeast region, including constructing new highways and bridges to reduce travel time and boost economic activities.

PROJECT SITE

The Existing Site of the Two Lane Project Highway comprises the section of National Highway 37 & 8 commencing from 87.700 to 106.500 i.e., Chandkhira to Churaibari in Badarpur Churaibari section in the State of Assam. The construction package for the project includes developing the existing two lane carriageway to four lane from Chandkhira existing km 87.700 to Churaibari existing km 118.500.
