The Government of India had entrusted to the Authority the development, maintenance and management of National Highway No. 72 including the section from Design Ch. 18.700 to Ch. 44.800 (approx. Design Length 26.100 km). The Authority had resolved to upgrade the existing road from Design Ch.l 8.700to Ch. 44.800(approximately 26.100 km) on the Poahta Saheb- Ballupur Section of National Highway No.- 72 (hereinafter called the “NH-72”) in the State of Uttarakhand by Four-Laning thereof (the “Project”) on design, build, operate and transfer (the “DBOT Annuity” or “Hybrid Annuity”).​

PROPOSAL FOR IMPROVED CONNECTIVITY

The Medinipur to Ballupur project in Uttarakhand is a section of the Poanta Saheb-section of the old NH-72. The project’s purpose is to improve connectivity between Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Chandigarh.​

Existing Project Site

The Existing Site of the Two Lane Project Highway comprises the section of National Highway 72 commencing from 18.700 to 44.800 i.e., Medinipur to Ballupur in Paonta Saheb-Ballupur section in the State of Uttrakhand. The construction package for the project includes developing the existing two lane carriageway to four lane from Medinipur existing km 18.700 to Ballupur existing km 44.800.
